The Akashic records – 10 matrix red flags

Ten red flags that the Akashic Records serve the Matrix—not the soul.

1. THE CLUE IS IN THE NAME: “AKASHIC”

Let’s demystify the word Akashic through its etymology. It derives from the Sanskrit ākāśa, meaning space or aether—a subtle energetic substance described as the fifth cosmic element.

Look across the room. What appears to be empty space isn’t empty—it’s aether, the underlying medium through which everything in our reality exists and interacts.

Try it for yourself. Hold your hands a few inches apart, palms facing, and slowly move them together and apart. You may feel warmth, tingling, pressure or resistance between them. Your eyes see empty space—but it doesn’t feel empty.

Matter is energy organised into different forms within the aether. Take whatever furniture is in the room: information about it exists within the aether and is transmitted to your senses, allowing you to perceive what it is and where it is.

And information travels both ways. Just as you receive information from the aether, you constantly imprint information into it. Think of it like footprints in sand: your weight, the shape of your feet and the direction you’re travelling leave an imprint that someone else can read to understand what happened.

So the aether is both a medium and an informational field—receiving, storing and transmitting information about this reality. This is the Akashic Field.

And this is where the theory that our reality is a simulation becomes easier to understand. Think of the Holodeck in Star Trek: an empty grid becomes a 3D world that the people inside it can see, feel and interact with as though it’s physically real. Simulation theory proposes something similar: the energetic information within the aether is what we perceive and experience as physical reality.

The aether is therefore the fabric and informational infrastructure of the simulation—the medium through which the Matrix manifests as physical reality and operates. So the Akashic Field isn’t beyond the Matrix—it is the Matrix’s own informational field.

2. THE AKASHIC RECORDS RECORD THE AETHER

The Akashic Records, then, are the record of all the information held within that field. And what you imprint upon it goes far deeper than your physical actions. Your body and your mind—including the subconscious—interface directly with the field. Therefore, your thoughts, emotions, fears, desires and intentions are all imprinted upon it. By the Records’ own admission, they aren’t only recording what happens around you. They’re recording what happens inside you.

You know that unnerving moment when you only think about something—you haven’t searched for it, said it or typed it—yet suddenly an advert connected to it appears on your phone? Hold onto that feeling, because it illustrates what I’m describing: information originating within your mind entering a field through which it can be received and transmitted elsewhere.

If that doesn’t disturb you, it should. Surveillance this invasive isn’t incidental—it has a purpose—and that purpose may not serve the soul being recorded.

3. THINK ABOUT THE IMPLICATIONS OF “RECORDS”

A police record. A court record. A criminal record.

Information that is meticulously documented, permanently retained and kept on file—ready to be retrieved and used as evidence against you.

4. THE AKASHIC RECORDS KEEP YOU SEEKING OUTSIDE YOURSELF

The memory wipe souls are subjected to before incarnation renders you amnesiac—unable to remember who you are or what came before.

This is what gives the Akashic Records their power.

You forget. They remember.

Instead of encouraging you to go within and restore your own soul memory, the Akashic Records position themselves as the external source of answers about who you are—keeping you searching outside yourself when the spiritual truth is that everything you need is within you as a soul.

5. HIERARCHY IS THE ARCHITECTURE OF THE MATRIX

The Akashic Records operate through hierarchy: Record Keepers, spirit guides, archangels, divine scribes, ascended masters —all positioned as intermediaries between you and information about yourself.

They determine what you’re permitted to know, when you’re ready to know it and what they decide serves your “highest good.”

But if it’s your information, why does another authority control your access to it?

Hierarchy concentrates knowledge and power at the top while restricting access below. That’s the structure of control— it is not the sovereignty of the soul.

6. THE AKASHIC RECORDS WRITE YOUR “SCHOOL REPORT CARD”

The Akashic Records perpetuate and administrate the “Earth School” narrative: the premise that we repeatedly incarnate to learn lessons, that pain and trauma accelerate spiritual growth, that mastering these lessons is necessary for the soul to evolve, and that the memory wipe is required because otherwise the lessons would be “too easy.”

But consider the moral implications. Take an innocent child suffering abuse. Instead of questioning why that suffering exists, the Earth School narrative reframes it as soul evolution. Are we really prepared to spiritualise a child’s suffering in order to justify the premise? And the logic is equally flawed. Memory is the foundation of learning. Learning depends on continuity—we retain what we’ve learned and build upon it. No ethical or valid system of education erases everything you’ve learned, withholds the curriculum, and then expects you to pass the exam.

That’s not education. It’s exploitation: a rigged system that sets the student up to fail, ensuring they have to enrol again and keep repeating the classes.

7. THE AKASHIC RECORDS ARE THE KARMIC ADMINISTRATORS AND SPIRITUAL ACCOUNTANTS

Karmic resolution is another key justification for repeated reincarnation and enduring challenging life scripts. But the law of cause and effect—not karma—is the omniversal principle: an energetic, neutral and internal chain of causation. The Matrix corrupts it into the moral, punitive and retributive “karma”.

The Akashic Records act as an external moral authority on karma—recording the soul’s transgressions, interpreting and calculating their karmic consequences and keeping account of the karmic debt. Their divine scribes reflect this role: Thoth recorded human deeds and the judgement of the dead, weighing the heart against the feather of Ma’at; Metatron, the heavenly scribe, maintained a celestial record of human deeds.

The Akashic Record becomes the evidence. Karma becomes the charge. Karmic resolution becomes the sentence.

And again the system is rigged: you incarnate to repay debts you can’t remember incurring, into adversity baked in to clear them which predisposes you to accumulating even more karma while still trying to clear the old.

The debt keeps renewing the sentence. It is karmic entrapment.

8. THE AKASHIC RECORDS PROSECUTE YOU

Your Akashic Record isn’t just a record of your history. It’s the dossier that makes the case and provides the evidence for why you must reincarnate again—citing your alleged spiritual inadequacies, unfinished lessons in soul evolution and unresolved karmic debt.

9. THE AKASHIC RECORDS ARE A CLOSED SYSTEM OF AUTHORITY

The Akashic Records claim to tell you who you’ve been and will be across incarnations—your lessons, karma, contracts, purpose and supposed spiritual deficiencies—then provide the evidence to validate their own claims. They are both the source of the claim and the source that verifies it.

They tell you what is true, then authenticate themselves as the authority proving it is true. And because New Age spirituality presents the Records as sacrosanct, their authority is assumed rather than independently verified.

But the only authority on the truth of who you are is you—the soul. By turning to an external system to define that truth for you, you relinquish your sovereignty and outsource your authority, instead of accessing your own soul memory and developing your ability to know what is true for yourself.

10. AKASHIC RECORDS INC.

Look at the corporate infrastructure and bureaucracy that has developed around access to supposedly universal spiritual knowledge: expensive training programmes, tiered certifications, branded methodologies, practitioner hierarchies, memberships and continuing accreditation. This isn’t about practitioners earning a living—it’s about an industry that turns universal knowledge into credentialled, monetised and increasingly gatekept access.

Increasingly, Akashic work is sold as cosmic consultancy and spiritual optimisation. Relationship not working? It’s because there’s a karmic entanglement from the 1400s. Still struggling financially? There’s a vow of poverty to revoke from an incarnation as a nun. Can’t find your purpose? The Records can tell you what your soul came here to do.

There is always another question, another block, another past life, another decision requiring another consultation. It becomes a spiritual subscription trap—fostering increasing dependence on the Akashic Records rather than strengthening your own connection with your soul consciousness.

A system that claims to empower the soul ultimately teaches you to trust its authority more than your own.
